Chad Livelsberger

Champion for Youth, Leader, Manager

Chad has dedicated most of his life to saving lives as a firefighter at the Wrightsville Fire Department.  A Wrightsville native, Chad has been a Fire Department volunteer since 1998, serving as Chief since 2012. Chad believes we have beautiful town that has a lot of potential.

Champion for Youth: Chad coached Young Nights Football and is an assistant coach for Hellam Recreation Softball.

Leader: As Chief, Chad leads the Wrightsville Steam Fire Engine and Hose Company No. 1, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. Our First Responders protect 11,000 citizens within 29 square miles of eastern York County, providing fire, rescue, and medical care. The Department runs dual dispatch with Hellam Fire Company for incidents in Wrightsville, Hellam Township and Hallam. The volunteers cover Route 30 and Lincoln Highway. The Fire Department has staff of 30 active firefighters.

Manager: Under Chief Chad, the Department was recognized by Pennsylvania for meeting or exceeding requirements of the Voluntary Rescue Service Recognition Program. More than 95 percent of the Department’s members are trained in the State certification system’s ProBoard Firefighter I/II and Hazardous Materials Operations levels. The Department maintains a response time of less than two minutes, and an average crew of 12 personnel per fire or rescue call which is above standard in today's volunteer fire service.

This year, the Department eagerly anticipates the arrival of Wrightsville’s new Seagrave rescue engine. Chad was instrumental in acquiring the engine. He will continue to prioritize personnel training and certification.

Goals – Chad’s commitments to Wrightsville are:

  • To unite the town
  • Inform residents about the cost of emergency services
  • Tackle infrastructure concerns
  • Help our Borough become an attractive spot for more small businesses
  • Restore small businesses through better use of store fronts on Hellam Street
